What to Look For In Venture Investing, Why You Should Buy a Minivan

by Carter Deken April 7th, 2021

This week, VP of Sales and Marketing Zach Rego talks with Eric Bahn, co-founder of Hustle Fund, about his career progression to becoming a founder and partner investor. You can listen on  Apple or Spotify now.

Eric spent most of his early career as a founder building media companies, including an education media business that he spent nearly a decade scaling before selling it to a larger company in the UK.

With this experience as a founder in addition to his time spent working for Facebook, Eric became an entrepreneur-in-residence, and it was in this role where he discovered his inspiration for venture capital business. He was able to speak with founders all day long about their vision, and he came to the cynical conclusion that these founders that he was supporting were way more talented than he was. Eric explains his transition from founder to VC after this succinctly: "When you can't compete, you invest."

Eric shares how he saw a huge opportunity in serving hustlers that didn't look like the mainstream venture backable founders, why he thinks the media depicts founders terribly, and so much more.
